On October 15, the World Chambers Federation held a European and Asian Summit in Istanbul under the main theme of "A Common Approach to Climate Change."

The purpose of the summit was to address environmental protection, plan measures to combat climate change, build bridges between countries through trade and business, ensure free and fair trade, and enhance competitiveness.

The opening of the summit featured remarks from Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of the WCF and TOBB, and included the participation of Murat Kurum, the Minister of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change of Istanbul.

Hisarcıklıoğlu highlighted that the summit’s focus on "A Common Approach to Climate Change" signifies only the beginning of collaborative efforts. He noted that COP29 will take place in Azerbaijan this November, and he expressed optimism that the discussions would contribute meaningfully to global objectives.

Hosted by TOBB, the summit brought together over 800 business leaders from 62 countries, including prominent figures such as Mammad Musayev, President of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs; Vugar Abbasov, Vice President of the Azerbaijan Confederation of Entrepreneurs and Chairman of the Nakhchivan Confederation of Entrepreneurs; and Orxan Mammadov, Chairman of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency. Their participation underscores the importance of regional cooperation in addressing global challenges such as climate change.
